What is a documentary session?
It is a 2 to 6-hour long photo shoot in a reportage style. I will not be posing or directing your family. The session can take place in your home or if outdoors, I recommend a place meaningful to you. I will dedicate some time for formal family portraits during the session.
What are we going to do if you don't pose us?
Have fun! You can think of activities to do during your session. Depending on your family members age, you can plan different activities and create beautiful moments: bubbles, cooking, dancing game. I can help plan your day around activities you will all enjoy if you need help.
What if my house is messy?
Don't hide your kid's toys if they are always out. Don't arrange your house for a Pinterest board, just tidy and hide things you don't want to see in the pictures. Clean as if a friend was coming. Remember I take pictures for you and your family, not for a Facebook audience.
What is your price?
My clients invest between £590 and £1900 for a 4-hour session. I charge a session fee for my time photographing your family. Digital images and products are sold separately.
What to wear during a documentary photoshoot?
Something you love and feel comfortable in. You should be able to move freely during your session. Don't put a dress if you're always wearing jeans. Let your family chose their own clothes.
Can we make a shorter session, 2 hour is too long for my family ?
My photography is candid, and because I don't pose it takes more time to create images that I aim to deliver. Have a look at my portfolio, I am drawn to moments that show connection, happiness, silliness or are just a reflection of childhood.
